I’ve been on the fence about the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera (BMPCC) for quite some time, but when Blackmagic recently cut the price in half, I finally pulled the trigger.

Recently, I decided it was finally time to upgrade my matte box. Previously, I’d been working with an Indian knockoff of the RedRock Micro that I’d picked up a few years back in film school. While this matte box blocked light and held my filters with aplomb through all manner of shooting conditions, it left a bit to be desired in terms of build quality. (more…)
